Utilities World is a South African company based in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal and has been operating since 2010 in the Utility Vending Sector. It is a BBB-EE Level 2 company with a 55% PDI shareholding and is a proud member of the Blue Label Telecoms Ltd group of companies.

This includes the core vending system, advanced reporting and data mining solutions, revenue protection and meter audits, and data normalisation.

The management and staff of Utilities World have been involved in the Prepayment Electricity Industry from the inception of Prepayment Electricity in South Africa. They have a combined total of over 150 years of experience within the industry including the development of system software, system deployment and maintenance as well as the complete management of prepayment sites.

System development includes the industry leading, fourth generation, Transact Revenue Management System, which has been designed specifically for the hosted environment in South Africa taking into account bandwidth availability in remote rural areas as well as the unique requirements of South African Municipalities in terms of debt collection and the implementation of new tariff structures, smart metering and water prepayment technologies.

System deployment and maintenance experience includes large prepayment projects in Nigeria (systems, meters and maintenance on-site for two years) and Sudan (system deployment and maintenance), system specification and tendering to World Bank standards in Tanzania, and deployment and maintenance to Municipalities and Eskom in South Africa

As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility, we endeavour to make an investment back into the communities in which we do business. This is in the form of employment opportunities for meter audits and system maintenance and the deployment of third-party vending to vendors that do not traditionally qualify to vend for the likes of CigiCell / Blue Label or other third-party vending outlets.
